space jockey (engineer) redesign

Description

I have a lot of problems with the engineers! Not only were they much smaller than Giger's original design, but they were also just shirring on the overall design of the derelict ship: it was part organic, the floor wasn't made for walking, the space jockey was connected to it with his biomass, sort of growing into it, and the corridors were far too small for him to walk through, if he had legs. Which leads me to my second point: the original didn't have legs. Show me how to fit them into the chair. You can't.

This video and this pic show you how I think:

This design fixes those problems:the jockey is portrayed without its suit here. The creature doesn't have legs, them being replaced by control digits/tentacles connecting his to his ship. They control the many different subsystems like weapons, shields, airlocks, sensors, landing gear... stuff like that. The four tubes on the lower part of Giger's design are filled with four tentacles with two digits each, which are used to stear the ship. The two humanoid arms are made for tasks the tentacles aren't strong enough to handle, like assisting in locomotion, fighting or carrying stuff. The "backpack" contains six small "jets" which propel him around in weightlessness, because he will rarely ever touch a planet's surface.
